Gratitude

We should practice gratitude on a daily basis, until it becomes part of us and we can permanently maintain this frequency within.

It’s pretty easy to find what to be grateful for. Maybe you are thinking of fancier, more special things. Be grateful for them when they happen, but learn how to be grateful for what you already have.

We live in comfort, a comfort that seems normal, but that our grandparents, and maybe even our parents, didn’t have.

Be grateful for a roof over your head and for protection against the weather. Be grateful for a comfortable temperature, be it winter or summer, in your house and at work. There are many people who work in cold or excessive heat. Be grateful for a comfortable bed, for peace in your house, for water.

Be grateful for current water and for hot water. Our grandparents didn’t have this and many still don’t. They had to take water out of the well, not matter the weather. We have access to a shower, hot water, a washing machine that does all the work for us. Be grateful for the toilet inside your house. Many rural areas still have an outhouse, which isn’t so comfortable at night or when it’s cold outside.

Be grateful for the food on your table. Many don’t even have one hot meal a day. Be grateful for how easy it is to procure food.

Be grateful if you are healthy and whole. Be grateful for the level of awakening you are at. Be grateful if someone smiled at you, held the door for you, said a kind word. Be grateful for every hug. If your loved ones are alive and healthy, be grateful.

These are the small things that seem normal to us, but for many they are not. We tend to forget to be grateful for what we already have.

We can extend the list to the blessing of having access to studies, courses, traveling, clothing and any other heart desires. Let us be grateful for what we have succeeded in life, for our inner growth, for when we release one more unforgiveness, fear, for every wise understanding of situations, of life itself.

The daily expression of gratitude attracts a positive, beautiful energy. This helps us see life from a different angle, from which we can bring more positive energy into our life, that supports our life and brings joy to our soul.

So, be grateful. You have plenty of reasons to!
